I offer face to face appointments in my spacious office which allows for good ventilation and 2+ meters of space between us.

If face to face doesn't work for you, then I also offer online sessions via Zoom or Doxy.

About me and my therapy practice

Seeking therapy can be a difficult step to take. I offer a tailored approach for each person I work with so that you can experience the type of help that works best for you.

I work with a number of different types of therapy, including:

EMDR - A relatively speedy therapy designed to help alleviate associated distress from traumatic memories. EMDR helps you to move forward without having to say a lot about your past.

Play therapy - A therapy that helps you to understand your associations with your experiences, and to gain better insight into what is causing you distress without too much focus on logical reasoning.

Psychodynamic Therapy - Focusing on the patterns which repeat throughout our lives. By understanding how everything we do, even evidently self destructive behaviours were initially designed to keep us safe we can forge new patterns which work in the present.

Humanistic - Based on the understanding that you know what's best for you we explore your experiences and help you to create a life which works for you on every level.

Existential - Understanding that every element of our lives and the lives of those around us are linked, we can change the way we perceive our experiences in order to better enjoy the life we have.

Therapy is a great opportunity to not only fix the areas of your life that are currently causing you distress, but also to learn the skills to do this in the future no matter what life throws at you. By understanding yourself and your reactions, you can change your experience of the world, and enjoy life.

My first session

The first session is a chance for you to get a feel for me - whether I am the sort of person you will feel comfortable talking to, and for me to gather an overview of you so that I can be sure I am able to help you. You will not be asked to disclose any more than you are comfortable with, and I encourage you to only give me the headlines of your life so that you aren't left feeling vulnerable or exposed from feeling that you've said too much.
