About me and my therapy practice
I provide a safe and welcoming therapeutic space, in which you can explore your concerns - developing at your own pace. Asking for help is not ‘a sign of weakness’; it demonstrates strength, courage and respect for oneself. I’d like to invite you to be brave enough to seek assistance with life's challenges.
As a qualified and registered member of the BACP, I work integratively, with each individual clients’ needs at the forefront of the therapeutic work.
I work in varying counselling environments, including bereavement and loss; alcohol and drug rehabilitation and private practice.
WHY SEEK COUNSELLING?
I would like to acknowledge how this process, of seeking help, might be daunting for you, especially if you have not engaged in counselling previously, or if you have not yet found the right 'fit' with a counsellor. Embarking on this search might be a strange and scary adventure, and I would like to reassure you, as much as possible, any feelings of anxiety or confusion around which choosing a counsellor/therapist, is natural.
There are many reasons a person might decide to seek counselling, at any stage of their lives; each reason is valid and unique to the individual. There might be issues related to unresolved traumas in the past, or it might be that day-to-day pressures have become challenging and are affecting you. Whatever your reason is, it can be helpful to have a therapist who can work with you, to explore your concerns, offering you a deeper understanding of yourself, helping you move forward.
