About me and my therapy practice
Emotional difficulties may be very difficult to talk about which can leave us in an overwhelming and lonely place. Things might be made even more difficult by the on-going pandemic crisis as it has brought about uncertainty, imposed restrictions, changed our routines and distanced us from others.
You may have been considering counselling for some time, but perhaps there are mixed feelings about it. It is very natural to feel this way. However, I would like to encourage you to take the step and reach out because counselling can offer an invaluably rewarding experience of understanding yourself better, deeply, helping you grow stronger emotionally and feel more in control of your inner world and your life.
Counselling offers a space that is safe for you to talk about anything that might have been worrying you, about anything that might feel important. It is a space where you can feel heard and where your feelings matter. Together, we will think about your experiences to help you make sense of them, which will open opportunities to developing new perspectives and more helpful ways of coping and relating.
I am a fully qualified, experienced and BACP registered psychodynamic counsellor working in consulting rooms in North London (close to Holloway, Camden Town, Caledonian Road, Kentish Town, Archway) and in Central London (close to London Bridge, Borough), as well as remotely.
*Due to the on-going COVID-19 situation, currently offering only remote sessions*

Remote sessions (50mins): £55

My experience involves working as a counsellor at a counselling centre in Highgate and at an NHS talking therapies service in Haringey. I have worked with people on a short-term and long-term basis and helped with difficulties such as: anxiety symptoms (including general worry, specific fears, intrusive thoughts, panic attacks), low mood, depression, loss and grief, relationship related difficulties, unhelpful behaviours, eating-related difficulties, difficulties relating to identity and self-image, unclear life direction.
My previous background is in psychology and mental health. For over 9 years, I have worked in various NHS secondary care mental health settings, including an inpatient psychiatric unit, crisis service, and a recovery–focused community project, where I have worked with clients individually and in groups, helping them achieve their recovery goals.

My first session
I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting, especially for the first time, as there might be a lot of uncertainty and conflicting feelings about counselling. At the very least, it is about opening up about own very personal experiences to a stranger. I therefore invite you to meet for an obligation-free initial consultation, which can be a chance for you to meet me and see if you would like to have counselling with me. It can also be a chance to ask questions and find out more about counselling.
During the consultation, we will explore your reasons for seeking therapy and what you would like to gain from it. I will ask some questions about your current circumstances to get a better understanding of your situation and how I can help. If we agree to work together, we will begin therapy in subsequent sessions. We will agree on a day and a time that suits us both and will be meeting at the same time each week.
If you would like to start counselling, or have any questions, or simply would like to find out more - please get in touch.
