About me and my therapy practice
Do you sometimes feel like you could do with a safe space to talk and offload the feelings and thoughts that may be having a negative impact on your day to day life without the worry of feeling censored or judged.
I provide a safe and confidential space for you to examine life issues and gain a clearer understanding of the catalysts that give rise to them. I am a compassionate, approachable, empathetic and caring counsellor and I communicate in a clear and understandable way. Through the counselling process you will discover more positive ways of thinking, feeling and behaving which will help you move to a less conflicted way of being.
The counselling process enables underlying problems to surface so that they can be addressed and dealt with in a healthy and proactive way. If there is an understanding of why the problem developed in the first place it will help you to devise and develop coping strategies to prevent its reoccurrence.
I am an integrative counsellor and work using a combination of therapeutic modalities: Psychodynamics, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred, Transactional Analysis ( TA ) and Gestalt: tailoring my approach to best suit the needs of my clients . I am also a fully qualified clinical hypnotherapist.
I am currently offering phone and online counselling sessions and am ensuring that I am competent in the skills of remote counselling so that I am able to provide you with an excellent therapy service.
I am very passionate about helping people achieve emotional health and well being, and guiding them to gain a clearer understanding of themselves, allowing them to attain a better quality of life.
I provide a comfortable and safe environment in which to do so.
My first session
After an initial phone consultation where we can talk about what brings you to therapy, we can arrange a convenient date and time for your first session .The phone consultation helps me to begin formulating the best way to meet your individual needs. Throughout our sessions I will help you to work towards the changes you hope for.
Therapy can sometimes temporarily create challenging feelings until progress and change begins, working together with these feelings can enhance our work and your understanding and acceptance of yourself.
It is your time and space and we will work at your pace, with whatever you feel you want to bring to the sessions.
