About me and my therapy practice
The global Coronavirus pandemic is presenting therapists and their clients with new challenges every day.
Rather than my usual face to face therapy sessions I am currently offering phone and online counselling sessions. I am ensuring that I am competent in the skills of remote counselling so that I am able to provide you with an excellent therapy service.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and work using a combination of therapeutic modalities: Psychodynamics, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred, Transactional Analysis ( TA ) and Gestalt: tailoring my approach to best suit the needs of my clients . I am also a fully qualified clinical hypnotherapist.
Sometimes we reach a point in our life where we feel some things need to change. The destructive behaviours, feelings and thoughts we find ourselves repeating, or the situations we find difficult or unbearable. Counselling enables you to identify, process and alleviate such issues.
Counselling provides a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to examine life issues and gain a clearer understanding of the catalysts that give rise to them. Talking to someone who is professionally trained, compassionate, approachable, empathetic, caring and who communicates in a clear and understandable way, allows you to discover more positive ways of thinking, feeling and behaving and can help you move to a less conflicted way of being.
My first session
After an initial phone consultation where we can talk about what brings you to therapy, we can arrange a convenient date and time for your first session .The phone consultation helps me to begin formulating the best way to meet your individual needs. Throughout our sessions I will help you to work towards the changes you hope for.
Therapy can sometimes temporarily create challenging feelings until progress and change begins, working together with these feelings can enhance our work and your understanding and acceptance of yourself.
It is your time and space and we will work at your pace, with whatever you feel you want to bring to the sessions.
