The current COVID 19 virus means that I am only able to offer counselling via telephone or online via Zoom, but I hope to be able to offer the option of face to face sessions as soon as the situation allows.
I offer daytime and evening appointments from Monday to Friday and morning appointments on Saturdays. Please contact me to check availability.
About me and my therapy practice
I understand that reaching out and seeking support when trying to cope with difficult feelings and life events can seem daunting. It is for this reason that I work to create an open and trusting alliance with you in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. Whether you are struggling to cope in the present, troubled by events from your past or anxious about the future, I will support you so that you are able to explore these issues and enable you to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
In addition to working with a wide range of issues, I also have additional experience counselling people recovering from addictions relating to drug and alcohol misuse.
I have also been a Samaritan where I had the privilege of working as a member of the training team supporting and mentoring new recruits.
I draw on real life experience having worked in a highly pressurised environment and have witnessed the effects that stress can have on the health and well being of both the individuals involved and those closest to them.
I draw from psychodynamic, person centred and Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) models and tailor my approach to work with your individual needs in order to support you to achieve your goals in the most suitable way.
My first session
Before your first session, I offer a free telephone consultation of up to 20 minutes during which I will answer any questions you might have about counselling and my practice. You can then decide if you would like to arrange your first appointment.
