About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Registered (Accredited) counsellor with extensive and ongoing experience of working with individuals and groups within various mental health agencies in the Third Sector, alongside working with individual clients and couples in private practice. I also feel my previous years of working alongside a diverse range of people in industrial, commercial, educational and community organisations all inform and enrich my practice as a counsellor. When you’re in acute need of support in dealing with the pressures of your life but often can’t turn to friends or family because they’re either part of the problem or have some agenda of their own, I can provide you the opportunity to explore your issues and fears in a safe, empathic, non-judgemental and confidential setting. I am an integrative counsellor and as such, I adapt and incorporate various evidence based techniques used in a range of counselling and psychotherapy models and approaches to address different aspects of a client’s difficulties. Exploring your experiences, positive and negative, is an essential part of the process of developing the use of your own resources to achieve greater levels of self-acceptance and personal growth. If change in your circumstances is difficult or not possible, a change in how you accommodate or deal with those circumstances is always possible.
I do not work with Children or Young Persons.
