About me and my therapy practice
If you seek a safe, impartial space to explore personal and/or professional stresses associated with, or impacted by, a caring role then short-term, person-centred counselling could be for you.
Clients connect with me either on a one-to-one basis or group support circle. A Support Circle is a small group of like-minded people who are impacted by a caring role - perhaps as a carer, or being cared for, or by aspects of ageing. The support circle offers connection for those who may otherwise feel alone. One to one and group sessions can cover both general and specific issues.
After the initial consultation (see below) the number of sessions can range anywhere between 1 - 12 and can take place weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. If the need arises for more than 12 sessions it will be discussed in good time and further referrals might be recommended if necessary.
All therapeutic connections are grounded in Lucy Aphramor's Well Now ethos.
Connecting remotely either online via Zoom, email or over the telephone is an important lifeline for Carers whose time is precious and often spread thinly.
Remote working allows me to reach people beyond my own geographical area in the East Midlands and enables those who, for whatever reason need or prefer to stay in their own home environment, to access support.
When circumstances permit, I will resume some local face to face sessions and small groups as well as sessions within care homes and other care sector organisations.
I operate a daytime practice, two to three days per week - these days vary and include some weekends which affords as much flexibility as possible.
My first session
Everyone is offered a free initial 30 minute consultation during which we discuss the kinds of session on offer, availability and payment options.
There is no pressure during this initial consultation to commit to any ongoing work - on the contrary, I encourage potential clients to take time to reflect and get back to me a few days later unless, of course, the need is more urgent.
I look forward to hearing from you, supporting you and making meaningful and healingful connections!
