About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified Counsellor and registered member of the BACP. Over the past 10 years, I have been a Counsellor in Higher Education, NHS Occupational health, and Secondary school settings.

Counselling is a talking therapy and an opportunity for you to meet weekly with me, on a one-to-one basis.

I will provide a confidential, safe space for you to be heard without judgement. And to explore, better understand or find skills to deal with whatever it is that has brought you to counselling.

For example, I have supported clients who have been subject to workplace stress, discrimination and bullying. Supporting clients to process the trauma and to rebuild self-confidence.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I use a blend of different counselling approaches, which I tailor to suit your specific needs. I work relationally and some of the other different approaches I use, include Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Transactional analysis.

I offer counselling on both a short term and a longer-term basis.

A typical starting point is six 50 minute sessions, over six weeks with regular review sessions to check in with your evolving needs.

Ultimately you can choose to stop counselling whenever you feel ready. And if you feel you want longer-term support we can schedule and review this regularly also.

My first session

I offer an initial 30 minute session for free Online. The initial meeting is an opportunity for us to meet and get a sense of what working together might be like. I will explain the client - therapist agreement and ask what is bringing you to counselling, and what your goals might be. The first 50 minute session, you will have space to share with me what it is that you would like help or support with and to think about what you would like the focus to be on. We will revisit the client- therapist agreement and I will answer any questions you may have about this.
