About me and my therapy practice

A warm welcome

My name is Carol, I consider myself warm and approchable and will help you feel at ease, I am an experienced Counsellor  and Supervisor.

I recognise, that it takes courage to take the first steps and I endeavour to make things as easy as possible.

There are many reasons why people chose counselling, but one of the things they usually have in common is wanting to improve their mental wellbeing.

My integrative training enables me to work with a wide range of difficulties that present in life. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is particularly suited to clients presenting with Generalised Anxiety Disorder, social anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, phobias and intrusive thoughts, all of which can vastly affect the lives of sufferers.

I can help you find new coping skills enabling you to manage the anxiety more effectively. I can also help you discover balanced thinking and healthier ways to manage situations, thus helping you improve your mental wellbeing

Maybe anxiety isnt the cause of your distress, perhaps you are experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or a situation is causing you emotional turmoil, you might be feeling angry, misunderstood, sad, frustrated or generally overwhelmed.

Perhaps you feel you have lost your way in life or lost your sense of self . Therapy can help you find a purpose and help you navigate towards growth.

Not everyone who contacts me is suffering, some clients  want to redefine their goals in life, perhaps there are some blocks in the road and you need to navigate a clearer pathway, as a therapist I can coach you and help you acheive your potential.

I qualified 14 years ago, attaining a Foundation Degree  Counselling and Psychotherapy Level 5 with commendation. Greenwich University (Accredited Course). I have previous experience working in GP surgeries (IAPT)  also working with young people in school settings. I have worked in Private Practice for over 10 years

About me and my therapy practice

My aim as a supervisor is to build healthy relationships with Supervisees, so that they can be open and honest, and not worried to bring their weaknesses or difficulties. Encouraging them to be open to exploration and ensuring the supervisee does not feel judged. Offering support to my supervisee and inspiring him/her to look after their own well-being and that of their clients by working ethically and safely. I will actively promote the importance of the wellbeing and safeguards of both counsellor and client.

I understand that finding a new supervisor can be difficult. Maybe your current supervisor is retiring, or perhaps you feel there is a misalignment. I have experienced this too. I am happy to set up a zoom call for you to ask any questions and get a better sense of what I can offer as a supervisor.

I trained integratively , using person centred, psychodynamic and CBT theories. I have attained BACP accreditation. I am happy to support supervisees through the accreditation process.
