About me and my therapy practice
I work as a counsellor for young people and adults, I have worked alongside a number of charities in and around Cambridgeshire including, Open Door. My experience also includes working as a Cruse Bereavement volunteer.
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, Dip, Couns and a Registered member of the BACP and Accredited Member of the NCS, which means that I follow both the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy & National Counselling Society strict ethical guidelines.
I am currently based in Ely, Cambridgeshire where normally I would be able to offer face to face counselling, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic I have moved to online therapy and telephone counselling.
I am warm, open and genuine. I have the strength, courage and empathy to be with you, while you explore your feelings and experiences that have shaped your life. I have experience in working with a range of clients both long and short term and can work with a range of presenting issues.
I work using an Integrative person-centred approach, I feel that it is important to recognise that people are all different and what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. I also work using art therapy; using art can address a number of different issues and difficulties experienced by clients.
Practice description
What is Integrative Counselling?
Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy is a combined approach, that brings together different elements of specific therapies.
I am a Humanistic, Person Centred Counsellor using an Integrative approach, which means that my practice is influenced by a collection of approaches. Using techniques from CBT, Humanistic, Psychodynamic means that I can tailor your counselling sessions to suit you. No two people experience the same event in the same way.
My first session
This will take place either face to face, by telephone or zoom. It’s an opportunity for you to ask questions and see if I am the right counsellor for you. There is never any pressure to continue counselling with me, I would strongly urge you to find the right therapist for you. It’s important that you are able to trust and find that therapeutic space with your counsellor. If you decide to continue, then we can schedule a date and time each week to meet, your sessions will last for 50 minutes.
I offer counselling either short term or long term, as counselling is personal and one size does not fit all, we can review while we are working together and see what suits you best. As a Registered member of the BACP and NCS I am committed to working by the principles and values set out in their ethical framework. All sessions are confidential.
