About me and my therapy practiceMany people seek therapy for many different reasons. Maybe recent events in your life have unsettled you and caused you distress. Maybe you just don't feel yourself with no idea why or how to move forward. You could be consumed with worries throughout the day or finding that just coping with everyday life is simply too much. Perhaps you are struggling with relationships with those around you and are feeling lonely. Whatever your reasons are, therapy can help you make sense of your thoughts and emotions so you can take control and make the changes you want in your life.
I am a fully qualified counsellor who works both indoor and outdoors, whichever is your preference.
I will provide you with a safe, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and explore your life, reflecting on personal experiences and how they have shaped you. Together, with you at the centre of sessions, we can work at your pace to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and move forward in your life.
For some people, the thought of therapy in the traditional setting of a counselling room feels daunting and uncomfortable, this is where Walk & Talk therapy can really help.There is lots of research to support the benefits of being outdoors and surrounded by nature. During Walk &Talk therapy you lead the pace and remain at the centre of the sessions. I will quite literally walk beside you on your journey, listening and gently encouraging you to explore your experiences. Walk & Talk therapy can be less intimidating, the feeling of being outdoors offers a sense of freedom and relaxation that can help new ideas arise.
Our first session would take place in an indoor setting where we can discuss your needs from therapy and how we will manage confidentiality during sessions, although it is worth remembering that to an outsider we will simply be two people talking.
I offer Walk & Talk sessions at a number of locations so you can choose a setting you are comfortable with.
