About me and my therapy practice
Welcome and thank-you for taking the time to review my profile. My name is Renée Kingdon and I am a BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist.
Life can feel like a struggle for most of us at times and maybe you are feeling anxious, depressed or stuck? Relationships can be toxic or break down, causing our self-esteem and self-worth to feel eroded or non-existent. Counselling can help.
As a Person-Centred trained counsellor I will listen to you with acceptance and empathic understanding. Talking with a trained therapist helps to create resilience and a new confidence in your own abilities and resources. Counselling can bring clarity, increase self-esteem and foster new ways of being you. I will not apply techniques or strategies in an attempt to ‘fix’ you; rather I will support and facilitate your exploration of what hurts and how you can heal.
I have an MA in Counselling and a Post Graduate Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling Skills, both from the University of East Anglia. I have worked as a student counsellor at the University of East Anglia and at a leading national mental health charity. I have also served as a Samaritans Listening Volunteer.
An initial session is an opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy and to answer any questions or concerns you may have. It is a chance to see if it feels right for us to work together. All sessions are £45. I look forward to hearing from you.
