About me and my therapy practice

I have gained experience in various settings as a person-centred counsellor and trainer, and I am passionate about the enormous benefits of high quality supervision in practice.

I am about to embark on my own supervision training, and am willing to offer concessionary rates to supervisees for an introductory period (until September 2022).

I am committed to continued self development and staying up to date as a supervisor and my ongoing experience as a therapist in more than one setting ensures that I remain current.

I have experience of running counselling training in Higher Education settings and I have facilitated a great deal of supervision in group settings, as well as one to one.

Practice description

My supervision practice is grounded in the person-centred approach.

I seek to offer my supervisees a valuing, supportive, and gently challenging environment in which to grow and develop their practice.

I practice supervision alongside my own private counselling practice, and my work as a counsellor for student clients in a University setting. I have a good understanding of the challenge in balancing organisational and institutional requirements with the needs of our clients.

It is of paramount importance that the supervisory relationship feels conducive to the way you would like to work. Therefore I offer the first supervision session at half price to enable you to decide whether my approach and way of being suits you.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred therapist, with experience of working with both adults and young people, in a variety of settings. I work in a confidential, genuine, empathic and non-judgemental way, and seek to create a safe and trusting environment for you to explore your issues, whilst prizing your uniqueness above all.

I have experience of working alongside clients from 9 yrs to 70+yrs of age with a wide range of issues. I have experience of working with young people in various settings and students at the University of Cambridge Counselling Service. I am passionate about what I do and truly believe in the value of the therapeutic relationship.

Research suggests that the therapeutic relationship is key to successful therapy. Feeling that you can trust and share your inner-most thoughts and feelings with your therapist is extremely important and I hope that our initial session together will help to assist you in deciding if my approach and style of counselling is the right fit for you.

Life can be overwhelming and there are times when it feels almost impossible to deal with the challenges it brings.

Childhood abuse, neglect, bullying, obsessive and/or intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, toxic relationships, relationship break ups, trauma, stress, are all extremely distressing and many people struggle to overcome these incredibly painful experiences on their own.

Counselling offers you the opportunity to make sense of, and explore, at your own pace, any issues that may be impacting your life and/or relationships within a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.

Practice description

I work from home, and currently am offering telephone or video sessions via Zoom or ‘in person’ face to face sessions at my home office. I am also happy to offer e-counselling via messenger if required.
