About me and my therapy practice

Compassion Focused Counsellor/Psychotherapist

Therapy offers you an opportunity to bring closer attention to your current ways of thinking, behaving and responding to yourself and others. Looking at your past and present life experiences, and identifying your own needs now.

It's not your fault if things feel tough right now, we all have complex human brains that cause us suffering at times. However you can choose to take responsibility as an adult and focus your attention on your mental and physical wellbeing.

That is a choice we all have as human beings. We can all find ways to maintain safe habitual behaviours, and make healthy lifestyles choices focusing on developing creative, curious and wiser minds.

How you can achieve this is to participate in a therapy process with me and make a commitment to yourself to be open to learning

Let's work through 3 steps together;

1. Courage - to be vulnerable, to be open, and accepting of what is going on right now. Willingness to reflect on how your earlier life messages, experiences, and influences have impacted your sense of self.

2. Change - through exploration and self-awareness, development and growth will occur. A focus of gratitude is fundamentally important to a person's wellbeing as is feeling appreciation, rather than the need to feel happy all the time or striving for perfection which can not realistically be maintained.

You will have the opportunity to take responsibility for what doesn't feel right and find new ways to be more compassionate towards yourself and others to improve your mental wellbeing.

3. Continue - throughout the therapeutic process you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and be on a new pathway to focusing your attention on living your life with more contentment through alleviating your distress.

Practice description

I am working from home offering online and telephone sessions On Monday afternoons, Tuesday afternoons, Thursday Evenings and Fridays.

I rent two therapy room spaces from trusted and supportive colleagues at Greetwell Place Managed Workspace, Lime Kiln Way, Lincoln LN2 4US on Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays and Thursday afternoons.

We start off by meeting for a consultation session to explore your needs for therapy and to see if we are a good fit to work together.

Your courage to engage in therapy is met by my compassion to support you with empathy, kindness and gently challenge you to make changes that you chose to focus in on. Action taking is a commitment in therapy as we can not heal from our past or present difficulties without accepting changes are needed to recover.

Feel free to get in contact and explore how I work to offer support to my clients. Much appreciation for reading my profile.

My first session

My intention is to respond within 24 hours of first contact. I welcome you to get in touch if you have any enquiries about face to face therapy, online or, in nature therapy sessions.

All enquiries will be met with a warm and encouraging response. Your decision to get in touch and search for a new opportunity taking action to support your health and wellbeing is a healthy choice you are giving to yourself.

You can attend therapy as part of your personal or professional growth and development. You don't need to be struggling before you get in touch. Offering you a safe space to explore all parts of you that show up including your vulnerable or hidden self is paramount to me.

You are welcome to meet with me for a consultation appointment where we can explore the possibility of working together. This gives us an opportunity to see if we are a good fit and if you like my CFT approach.

I am always happy to recommend one of my wonderful colleagues if my style of working doesn't provide you with what you are looking for in therapeutic support. You always have a choice!

If we agree to continue working together after our consultation session we work towards a review every four weeks and you are free to be open and honest as I encourage us to work in this way to enable us to meet your needs.

Take the step to discover, explore and process what is really going on for you, we all have blind spots, fears, blocks and resistances at times. Coming to therapy opens up opportunities to uncover things that feel tricky, uncomfortable or overwhelming.

Sometimes things may not make sense at the time of feeling uncertainty and therapy can offer you a broader perspective. Lets be in this together, you really don't need to feel alone with your thoughts and feelings.

May you be the best version of who you are now
