About me and my therapy practice

I currently hold a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and have done since 2004 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision since 2008. I am a Certified Practitioner in Pst-Tap, OldPain2Go® Methodology and Mastering Hypnosis.

Haywood Counselling Centre was established in 2009 and provides Counselling, Supervision, Psy-Tap, OldPain2Go, Hypnosis and Workshops that are specifically tailored for individuals, couples, groups and organisations.

Philosophy: Supporting you to reach your full potential.

Mission: To promote the well being of clients by providing an accessible, high quality service that emphasises trust, respect, confidentiality, and compassion.

Through my training and experience of counselling and supervising clients, I have developed a sensitive approach towards the needs and difficulties of any client group and understand the necessity to work imaginatively with individuals and groups in order that they can express themselves. This includes using alternative methods in which to work and encourage the value of using a wide range of interventions.

I work with individuals who are experiencing issues relating to depression, health, low self-esteem, work related stress, anxiety, abuse, anger, trauma, sexuality, bereavement and loss.

I also work with individuals, couples, families and groups who are experiencing relationship difficulties in their personal or work life.

About me and my therapy practice

Qualifications and Experience

I have worked since 2004 for a number of organisations in a supervisory capacity. I have my own supervision practice which is tailored for individuals.

I completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision at Keele University in 2008.

Theoretical Approaches to Supervision

Supervision is a process that develops skills and abilities and encourages reflection, self-awareness, ways of working with clients and identifies training requirements.

Haywood Counselling Centre is highly committed to provide supervision, which is significantly informed by an Integrative approach, which includes: Person Centred, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural and Creative methods.

The Importance of Regular and Effective Supervision for Professionals

Supervision is a supportive process for counsellors and encourages an awareness of how working practices affect individuals. It provides a supportive setting, offers stability, reinforces boundaries and identifies the pressures that counselling clients can bring. It encourages awareness and identification of professional working practices. It ensures individuals are working safely, ethically and to the highest professional standards whilst polices, practices and procedures are adhered to.

Supervision is about feeling comfortable to bring all aspects of your practice, be creative and have fun.

I offer all prospective clients a free initial introductory session. This provides us both with the opportunity of discussing future arrangements and deciding whether we wish to work together.
