About me and my therapy practice
I know it can be daunting to take the first step to make contact with a counsellor, particularly in the middle of a pandemic where sessions are taking place remotely. It takes courage and strength. We can work together to look at what changes you want to make to the areas in your life that are causing you distress and unhappiness. The pace is set by you and the therapy is based on the relationship that develops over time.
I completed my training over 15 years ago and have worked in voluntary placements as well as in private practice. I have experience of helping people to work with the challenges that life brings in the form of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss, bereavement, work related stress, redundancy, to list just a few.
During the pandemic I am working with clients online, either via telephone or video call (such as FaceTime or Zoom) but as soon as things return to normal, I would be happy to work face to face with you if that is what you would prefer.
My first session
During our first session we would establish whether we are a good fit to work together. If we both agree we are then we can arrange for future sessions. This first session is often referred to as an assessment.
