About me and my therapy practice
Counselling for adults struggling with emotions such as grief, anxiety and depression.
My style of counselling is mainly Person-Centred, aiming to empower you to discover solutions to issues, with my support.
Clients quite quickly feel as though a weight’s been lifted from their shoulders. People become calmer, stop worrying so much, solve problems, sleep better, improve relationships, build confidence, relax and generally improve well-being.
We gently explore whatever you feel able to discuss. This might involve looking at what's happening in your life right now, how the past can still impact you in the present and recognising how your automatic thought patterns might be affecting you.
My own life experience and counselling training mean that I am able to empathise readily with the difficult emotions that all of us sometimes encounter. I believe such feelings are often associated with the kind of losses we inevitably face, such as bereavement, relationship break-up, health problems...
During counsellor training, whilst I worked for the NHS, I had counselling myself and remember feeling very safe throughout the process. It felt as though the counsellor knew me well, she really cared, I could say whatever I wanted... and I felt so much better. I trust this process.
My professional qualifications include Counselling and Psychotherapy Diploma Level 5, Health and Social Care Level 3 and Certificates in Coping with Loss and Supporting Distressed Individuals.
If anything I’ve said resonates with you, please do not hesitate to contact me by email or phone, I will be very happy to discuss things with you in more detail.
