In light of the current social distancing advice I will be suspending consultations until the end of April. After this, recent clients will be contacted and new ones invited.
About me and my therapy practice
I work with the experiences and emotions that my clients live with. I work relationally, bearing in mind the experiences and environment that influence my client and their life. I have an integrative approach, so tailor my work to my client's needs in an accepting, welcoming environment.
I have 42+ hours training in working with couples and believe that relationships, of every sort, are hugely important in our lives.
My first session
Much of the first session is 'getting to know you', although this will often include some psychoeducation and also suggestions and explanations the clients reactions.
Much emotional distress is trauma or relationally based and this will be considered and explored.
I have produced a Word document, 'Introduction to a Counselling Session' detailing what to expect in a first and consecutive sessions and a copy of this is emailed to enquirers.
