About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor working with individuals, couples, families and groups - helping them to lead more fulfilling lives.

I offer a safe, supportive and respectful space where you can be yourself.

You may want to make use of counselling by talking about things you might otherwise avoid or are hesitant to talk about. I will listen and help you make sense of things. I certainly won't judge you, shame you or make you feel inadequate about the way you are or because of the thoughts and feelings you have.

Counselling is sometimes said to be 'a place where we meet ourselves'. It's a process of acceptance, empowerment, adjustment and growth.

Working in general practice across a wide range of presenting issues, I have a particular interest in supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse, working with disassociation, trauma and with people that experience having multiple selves.

I have undertaken specialist training on 'Child Sexual Abuse' and 'Dissociative Identity Disorder - Healing the Brain'. The latter addressed the neurological impact of child sex abuse and introduces a three-phase treatment plan to address the scope of trauma symptoms and disorders. ,p>My practice is a short walk from Eastbourne train station. Paid and free on-street parking is available. I also offer online counselling.

Please contact me if you have any questions or wish to book an appointment.

I look forward to hearing from you.

James
