About me and my therapy practice
I have a wide range of experience, working in a variety of settings which include private practice, a therapy centre, voluntary sector organisations and N.H.S. settings.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which we can jointly explore the difficulties you might be experiencing. My style of counselling/psychotherapy is friendly, down to earth, and rooted in the psychodynmic approach, although I attempt to work with people in a way that is most helpful for them.
We will think together about your thoughts and feelings and attempt to achieve some understanding. Change may occur from this understanding, or from experiencing your feelings and thoughts from a new perspective.
It can be difficult to decide whether to start therapy and who to start it with. We would start with two assessment sessions to get a sense of what is going on and how it might feel to work with me. After this I would encourage you to go away and think about whether you think it might be helpful and if working with me feels like a good fit for you? If yes, then we can arrange further sessions.
