About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling to communicate with your partner? Feel like your partner doesn't understand you?
Do you wish you could turn the clock back to happier times in your relationship?
Many couples face difficulties in their relationship at some time or other, and this can often be a stressful experience, leaving one or both partners feeling hurt, lonely or rejected.
Relationship counselling can help you re-connect with each other, reduce conflict in the relationship, and regain the closeness and intimacy you once had.
As a Relate trained counsellor, I can help you move from feeling stuck, to being more understanding of each other, and to find more successful ways of communicating, whether you are young or older, LGBT+, married, living together, or living apart.
I specialise in working with couples where one or both partners are on the autism spectrum (or Asperger's Syndrome). Having close family members on the autism spectrum, I recognise the need to adapt how I work to support clients with autism, and their partners in the best way possible. It is not a requirement for the counselling to have a formal diagnosis, as the techniques and strategies are formulated to support you as individuals, and the unique relationship you share.
You can read more in the blog posts I have written related to my work with autistic clients here: https://www.connections-counselling.co.uk/blog/
