About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified trauma informed Counsellor with over 16 years experience, offering face to face and remote sessions. I also offer walk and talk sessions.

You may be clear about your goals for counselling or perhaps you are unsure but that’s fine too. Sometimes by just having a space to be heard could help you to get to the bottom of what it is you may want to change. Sessions with me are warm open and non judgemental; I work in a way that helps you to gain a better understanding of yourself.

I work with a broad range of presenting issues, such as relational difficulties (with family, friends, partners), PTSD/Complex PTSD, Work Related Stress issues, Anxiety, Depression, Menopause, Bereavement and Survivors of Suicide Loss, Sexual Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, and Parenting Issues to include Parental Ambivalence.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked for over 7 years as a Counsellor for a charity supporting Women and Girls impacted by Sexual Violence.

I have also volunteered for a Bereavement service where I gained valuable therapeutic experience supporting clients struggling with grief and loss.

Please get in touch to arrange a no obligation chat (up to 20 minutes) before deciding to book an initial consultation.

Practice description

Face to Face:

I offer sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings at my private practice based in Highbury and Islington. I am located within walking distance of the station.

Remote/Online sessions:

I offer sessions over Zoom or Telephone on Tuesdays

Walk and Talk Sessions:

I am offering sessions outdoors for clients who may prefer this way of engaging with therapy. These sessions are currently available on Mondays during the day.

My first session

This session is considered an initial consultation and follows our brief telephone chat. The fee for this appointment is £65.

Prior to our appointment, I will forward copies of my agreement/terms and privacy statement. These documents are for information purposes only at this stage.

My hope for this session is for you to get more of a sense of me and how we might work together on the issues that are important to you.

I will introduce myself and answer any questions you may have about my way of working, my qualifications, experience and anything else you may need to know about working with me.

When you are a little more settled, I will take a brief history of the issues you are struggling with, your hopes for therapy and complete an assessment of any risks I may need to be aware of.  I  take some very brief notes during the initial session only.

On conclusion of the session, I tend to suggest taking some time before getting in touch with a decision on whether you want to continue  working with me.
