About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Helen - I am a qualified person centred counsellor and I work with adult clients.
I can offer you a unique, safe space in which to feel heard - all of your feelings are welcome. We will go at your pace in exploring whatever difficulties and feelings you are experiencing.
I am able to integrate elements of transactional analysis (TA) and mindfulness into our work together, dependent on your needs.
Please take a look at my website for a more detailed overview on how I work, what I am able to offer, and how we may be able to work together.
I am able to offer you accessible counselling, via Zoom or on the phone, in the comfortable surroundings of your own environment. I am also available for home visits within the York area.
I believe that as many people as possible should have access to counselling and mental health support therefore I offer some of my counselling sessions at no cost.
Practice description
My core approach is person centred and this means that you would be at the heart of our work. We would go at your pace, in exploring the feelings or difficulties you may be experiencing, so that you feel empowered to move forward and make the changes in your life, which you feel are right for you.
My first session
In our first session I will ask you some questions to get to know you a little more, this will include whether you’ve had counselling previously, and some background into your mental health.
You will of course have the opportunity to ask me questions and we will discuss what you feel you would like to gain from counselling and explore your expectations of the process.
It’s important that we get to know each other and establish a relationship which is based on trust and respect, so that you are able to gain as much as possible from our work together.
