About me and my therapy practice
My experience in secondary schools working with children and young people, firstly as a special needs TA, then Schools Counsellor has given me an understanding of how challenging life can be for our children. Often parents/carers find themselves feeling helpless as they see their child experience anxiety, low self esteem, self harm, isolation, suicidal ideation...
Counselling may help children and young people to re-connect with themselves, find their confidence and help themselves to cope in the challenging world that we live in. All sessions are confidential (with the exception of safeguarding/significant risk issues) which may help your child share without the edge of upsetting or burdening those that they care for.
I have been a practicing counsellor for children and young people in schools, agency settings and in private practice for over 4 years. My specialist qualification is in children and young people, however my practice is not exclusive to that, I also offer counselling to adults.
