Please note that I am currently happy to take referrals for telephone or video link sessions but unfortunately, for the foreseeable future, I am unable to offer appointments to see clients face to face. About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor and workplace consultant. My 25 years of providing talking therapies has taught him that it can be something major or sometimes relatively small that makes us 'wobble'(technical term!) I work on the basis that we all have strengths and resilience  we can reconnect with given time, space and the right kind of expertise.

Clients and colleagues tell me (without prompting!) that I am warm and approachable as well as being focused in identifying how best clients can be supported and empowered. I work with 'person centred' values at the heart of my style and approach, focusing on the importance of respect and trust in the therapeutic relationship. I do not rush my clients to solutions, but work collaboratively with them to achieve their goals.

My clinical experience includes addictions work, short term and solution-focused therapy, coaching and workplace expertise, applying problem-solving models to issues and relationships that get 'stuck'.

Sometimes just a single session or perhaps a few sessions help the process of regaining control of ourselves and of our situation. While I have specialised in the area of workplace counselling and consultancy, including stress management, I am happy to discuss any counselling needs, requiring either brief or longer-term support.

Perhaps you have reached a place of needing to let down the mask for a while and find some peace of mind ..... and find some solutions to situations you feel you are quite stuck with. There may be more choices than you currently believe there are.

If you are looking for a Counsellor in Swindon with a proven track record, consider me before you trawl further.

Please note that I am currently happy to accept new supervisees for telephone or video link sessions but, unfortunately, for the foreseeable future, I am unable to offer appointments to see clients face to face. About me and my therapy practice

I have been providing supervision to counsellors and others in the helping professions for over 20 years. Some of that supervision experience has been in the workplace context of employee assistance services - individual and groups. Some has been in the voluntary sector where I have supervised both brief and longer term work. I currently supervise a number of therapists in private practice as well as agency settings.

During the past few years, I have developed expertise in supporting non-counselling professionals who need support and a space to process the impact of a demanding service-user interface. These include welfare officers, forensic psychologists, probation officers, social workers and others who value the development of reflective practice in their work.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision (National Counselling Society Accredited).

Like my counselling, my supervision offers a range of approaches and interventions to match supervisees' needs. However this service is offered from a clear person-centred base, which builds a professional relationship of trust and confidence, respects my supervises, and allows them to bring the best of their work and...more important .... the rest!

I take inspiration from the Inskipp & Proctor 'tasks of supervision' supervision model, with its Normative, Formative and Restorative emphases, while I also 'borrow' from the Hawkins and Shohet 'eyes' into therapeutic work. As a lot of my supervision experience has been within the structure of organisations, I also invite my supervisees to be aware of the context and systems within which they and their clients 'operate', which I believe adds depth and interest to the work.

In case the above sounds very serious (and supervision has to be sometimes, I know),  I also like there to be plenty of humour and laughter within the sessions, so that we remind ourselves we need to enjoy our work too!
