About me and my therapy practice
Welcome. I see counselling as a journey of discovery. I will accompany you, provide a safe environment and enable you to explore your situation or issue and help you find understanding and a way forward that’s right for you. Currently I’m only working online.
What brings you to counselling?
Are you facing a challenging situation, health issue, circumstances, or life just doesn’t make sense? Maybe you don’t know what to do or you’re questioning your purpose? Perhaps you are feeling unheard, misunderstood, alone, or don’t have anyone to talk to about what’s really concerning you? If so, I can help.
What I offer
I will assist you to explore whatever is concerning you, helping you to gain insight, understanding and a way forward that’s right for you. I’ll do this by really hearing, seeing and understanding you and your unique situation, a process which can be incredibly powerful and beneficial. Clients tell me they feel very safe with me.
Facing my own challenges and journey has resulted in me having an insight and empathy towards others who are facing their own unique situations, whatever they may be. I feel my life and professional experience qualify me to accompany you as you face yours.

I'm an experienced Person-Centred counsellor and I’ve been listening to people most of my life. I've worked with a wide range of issues in a variety of settings within Social Services and the Voluntary Sector, both in this country and overseas.
What can you expect from me?
I believe that everyone can become more functioning and will do so if given the right conditions; I aim to provide these by being honest, non-judgmental, accepting and really hearing and seeing you as an unique individual.
I will allow you to go at your own pace and bring to sessions whatever’s right for you, not making you talk about anything you’re not ready to, nor telling you what to do or set ‘homework’. This environment can help you discover inner resources. Sometimes I may suggest things that may help you if it feels appropriate.

I’m an insured and Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their ‘ethical framework’ and participate in regular supervision and ongoing training.
I have a personal interest in spirituality, mindfulness, meditation and energy work and can bring aspects of these into my counselling if required.
Having faced my own life-changing events I know how difficult it can be when everything you’ve taken for granted is removed. There’s a saying in counselling that you can only accompany a client as far as you’ve gone yourself, so having travelled to the depth of my own identity I feel able to accompany you as you face your situation.
My first session
The most important aspect in therapy is the relationship with your counsellor. To find out if I'm right for you then please contact me to arrange a free 15 minute phone chat where you can tell me something about your situation, ask me any questions and see if you'd like to go further.
The next step is then a no obligation counselling session at an introductory rate (£25.00) . This doesn’t commit you to further sessions.
Sessions last an hour at an agreed time with you, however the number required and frequency varies from person to person depending on individual needs, this will be discussed with you. You are not committing to a set number of sessions and are encouraged to ask any questions you may have.
Due to Coronavirus I'm currently only able to offer counselling online (via Zoom) or phone, however in my experience this is very effective.
