About me and my therapy practice
I support adults with anxiety to live a more balanced life.
We have just come out of the second lockdown and the anxiety you may already be experiencing is probably heightened. There is so much uncertainty and unease around at the moment and this is incredibly unsettling and worrying. Your priorities and way of life may have changed and this in turn might be affecting you in varied and often conflicting and confusing ways.
If you are experiencing physical symptoms such as headaches, IBS, joint pain or fibromyalgia, your body may be literally carrying or holding the weight of your anxiety. We can consider whether a more holistic approach will help you – exploring the connection between your physical symptoms and your anxiety.
I welcome the opportunity to work alongside you as we explore what life is like for you; exploring ways to cope with your challenges, and understanding and developing your way of being. As a humanistic and integrative therapist, I have a flexible and holistic approach, tailoring your therapy to your personal circumstances and needs as a unique individual.
I am currently working exclusively online and by telephone due to the pandemic.
I work in private practice in Rickmansworth and online and also as a volunteer counsellor at Bucks Mind, having formerly worked at a practice in Bishop's Stortford.
I have a post-graduate diploma in psychotherapy and counselling from Regents University London.
I have additional training as a certified cyber therapist with the Online Therapy Institute and am a Professional Member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).
I am currently undertaking a research project, for completion of my Master's Degree, on the lived experience of chronic pain and the implications for psychotherapy.
I am not offering face-to-face sessions at present.
I am currently providing online and telephone therapy only. I am happy to discuss which method and which platform (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc.) you are more comfortable using and will talk you through the process if it is unfamiliar.

I understand that this can seem a daunting process - I offer a free 20 minute phone call so that we can discuss how I can best support you.
My first sessionThe first session is an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves and for you to think about whether you would like to work with me. We discuss what has brought you to therapy, and I will ask for some information on your family history and current circumstances as well as to talk through any questions or concerns you have.
