About me and my therapy practice

During the Covid 19 pandemic lock down I am offering online or telephone sessions.

I am a Registered Accredited counsellor with 23 years experience, and continue to feel very privileged in working with individuals, couples and families, children and young people, and supporting counselling students through personal therapy and supervision. One of the most important aspect of my work is for people to feel secure and comfortable in our work together. For this reason I offer a FREE 30 minute initial meeting to discuss particular needs, provide further information, such as confidentiality, and to see whether I am the right counsellor for you. I maintain my own emotional wellbeing through personal therapy as needed, Mindfulness meditation and connection to nature by walking the South Downs.I have extensive experience in working with personal trauma (including early years) and relationship issues/couples counselling, together with a range of other issues detailed below. I have experience of working with Looked After Children (LAC), and Foster Carers, and supervising other counsellors working in this specialism. This work is informed by additional training in DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) for children experiencing relationship challenges. Clients tell me that the therapy environment is important, preferring a private and calm location, preferably with parking. My consulting room is only 4 miles from Lewes, set within the beautiful National Park, with views to the South Downs, with parking. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and by the Professional Conduct Procedure of BACP. I also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.
