About me and my therapy practice

Fully registered and accredited, with 13 years of experience, offering adults, young adults and couples mental health support, online, over the phone and in person.

We all have times in life when we lose our way. Counselling offers us the space to reflect on where we are and where we want to go. Whether we are struggling with anxiety, depression, issues within relationships, feelings of low self-worth, grief or just the constant juggle of life’s challenges, counselling offers a unique opportunity to work through these issues in a supported environment, without judgement or shame.

Counselling is led by you and is not about the therapist telling you what to do, but rather is about the therapist creating the right environment for you to explore together how you can go about finding the right path forward.

I am passionate about the potential counselling has to enable changes for us all, and my years of experience have only grown this passion further, as I see people gain so much from the process of counselling, time and time again.

I have experience working in private practice, in an agency setting, in a hospice and in GP practices. Along with my advanced diploma in humanistic counselling, I have completed a Certificate in Supervision of Counselling course, as well as a Couples Counselling Certificate course and many continuing professional development workshops. I work with adults, young people and couples.

About me and my therapy practice

Clinical Supervision online or in person

Supervision is a vital source of support, learning and an opportunity to dive into all the different elements of the work we are doing with our clients.

My approach to supervision is loosely based on the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Peter Hawkins & Robin Shohet in 1985). The Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision is a model that includes a focus on the relationships between client and therapist, therapist and supervisor and how these fit into the wider context.

The seven eyes are:

1. Focus on the client in terms of what they bring and how they present - what actually happened in the session.

2. Focusing on interventions - how the therapist intervened and why those interventions were used. How useful were they?

3. Focusing on the relationship between the client and the therapist.

4. Focusing on the therapist’s process.

5. Focusing on the relationship between therapist and supervisor.

6. The supervisor focusing on their own process.

7. Focusing on the wider context in which the work is happening and how this might be impacting the work.

Supervision should be a collaborative process, whereby therapist and supervisor explore the work together, to work towards the best outcome for the client, whilst supporting the on-going development and well-being of the therapist.

I offer supervisees a contained space, without judgement, where they are able to bring the highs and lows of their work and reflect on the different elements involved from these different perspectives.

A good supervision session will leave both supervisee and supervisor feeling energised, engaged and passionate about the important work that we are doing.
