About me and my therapy practice

I am a chartered counselling psychologist registered with the HCPC, a member of the British Psychological Society and the Division of Counselling Psychology, a registered member of the BACP, and a member of the EMDR Association UK. I am an experienced therapist working with adults and young people.

My practice is based on Cheltenham Rd, near the arches.

I use an integrative approach, which means that together we will decide on the best ways to answer the questions you come to therapy with. I use a variety of theories to facilitate a deep exploration of your feelings in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental place. I have a down to earth and collaborative approach where together, we will create an environment that is unique to your needs.

I offer a free initial consultation over the phone. Thereafter, sessions are £90 per 50 minutes.

Practice description

As a Counselling Psychologist, I use evidence-based therapies in my practice. Counselling psychologists train in a wide range of therapeutic modalities and work in a collaborative and culturally-sensitive way in order to facilitate a robust therapeutic relationship, which we recognise as being the most crucial factor in positive therapeutic outcomes.

My first session

Before we decide to meet for therapy, I will offer you a free 20 minute telephone consultation in order for me to get an idea of what brings you to therapy, for us to discuss how I might be able to help, and to get an idea of if we will be a ‘good fit’.

In our first session, I will ask you some questions about yourself, your life so far and what has brought you to therapy at this time. This is called an assessment and is more of an ongoing conversation than an interview, and isn’t as formal as the name might make it sound. Often the assessment process might take more than one or two sessions, as we discuss the things you would like help with the ways we might be able to work together.

What I can help with

Abuse, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Infertility, Loss, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Service veterans, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
