About me and my therapy practice
I use an integrative approach in my work, which means I choose the most appropriate strand from my training (Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT) to help to help an individual or couple with a particular issue or difficulty.
Counselling provides a safe place to work through difficulties such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and relationship problems. The counselling process helps you make sense of your feelings and develop the new understanding and skills you need to cope more effectively.
I have more than 25 years of experience of working as a therapist.
I work in an office in a business centre that provides anonymity and has a car park.
My first session
I see a first sessions as a chance for clients to check out whether they feel comfortable talking to me, and for me to work out whether I am the most appropriate person to help them at this point in time.
The initial appointment lasts about an hour and at the end of the time there would be a conversation about whether it feels that therapy would be helpful, or not, whether I am the right person to offer that help, or a sign posting to another therapist or other services.
