About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered and UKCP accredited psychotherapist offering individual therapy. I provide support for personal development and a range of emotional and psychological issues, including anxiety-based issues, depression and low mood, relationship problems, identity issues and low self-esteem, problematic perfectionism, eating and body image issues, stress and work related difficulties, and more.
Depending on your needs and preferences, I work short-term (6-12 sessions), long-term and open-ended.
As an integrative psychotherapist, my approach draws on a range of therapeutic ideas and practices, including relational psychoanalytic and existential thinking. In practice this means that I do not offer a one-size-fits-all approach and that I appreciate different clients need different things from therapy.
The way I work is to listen closely to your concerns, and support you to find new ways of understanding the issues you are experiencing, to make better and more informed choices for yourself and within your relationships.
As a member of BACP, I am guided by their Ethical Framework, which includes regular supervision of my work and ongoing professional development. I am fully insured to practise.
I aim to provide you with a confidential space where you feel safe, valued and respected, can explore and gain insight into your difficulties and concerns, and identify and make changes in your life.
I offer in-person therapy in Shoreditch on Tuesdays. My therapy room allows for 2.0m social distancing and the building management has implemented Covid-19 protocols in line with current government guidelines.
My first session
Often people are unsure about whether to start therapy, or which therapist to see, and for how long. Our first meeting is an opportunity for you to decide whether therapy might be helpful to you at this time. We will discuss the concerns and problems that you are facing, how these are impacting on you, your needs or wishes for the therapy, and how we might work together.
During the first meeting we will also discuss the contract and practicalities.
If you decide to continue, regular sessions take place at the same time each week for 50 minutes.
