About me and my therapy practice

Finding a therapist can feel like a minefield. Ultimately you probably want to find someone to talk to that you feel comfortable with, and who can of course help you. I understand how confusing and nerve-wracking it can be to consider therapy and take the first step. I provide clients with a supportive space in which to unpack their challenges. I will help you to get a better handle on what is happening for you, so that you can navigate the challenges you are facing in life. Whether you are struggling with big life events, or just feel lost or low, I'm here to help.

If you are interested in working with me then please reach out to arrange an initial session. If you would like an initial 15 minute phone conversation prior to meeting, then let me know. It is up to you how you want your therapy to progress. If we decide to work together after our initial session, I will suggest an initial commitment of 6 sessions.

I am trained in transpersonal therapy. This means working with feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations. Your challenges will be seen as signs of what you need more of or less of in life rather than a pathology. It may be about working out what it is that you want from life. Often it is about helping you to understand the feelings that you are experiencing today, and how to manage current challenges.

Practice description

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in psychosynthesis counselling from The Psychosynthesis Trust. This is a transpersonal modality. I am a registered member of the BACP.

I also have a background in psychology, and both BSc and MSc qualifications in psychology. I have worked as a psychologist with corporate and public sector organisations over the last 15 years, in leadership consulting, and am certified in cognitive-behavioural coaching.

The clients I have experience of working with include people suffering anxiety or depression, who have experienced significant loss and bereavement in their life. I have worked with childhood trauma as well as traumatic midlife events, loss of meaning and particularly clients with the desire to better understand the feelings and emotions that they are experiencing.

Often it is about helping you to understand the feelings that you are experiencing today, and how to manage current challenges.

I am trained in transpersonal therapy. This means working with feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations. It won’t be all about your childhood, though it is often useful to explore this. It may be about working out what it is that you want from life, and what gives you meaning. Often it is about helping you to understand the feelings that you are experiencing today.

Therapy is not a quick fix. You will need to work hard if you seek change. Therapy brings challenge, and can be uncomfortable. We will build a relationship that supports you, and navigate the challenges together.
