About me and my therapy practice

Victoria Cobham, Counsellor and Solicitor.

LLB (Hons), LSF, DAFJ, Prof Dip, MBACP.

Do you wish aspects of your life could be different?  Do you feel stuck, trapped, saddened or confused about how to change your existence for the better?

Then come and see me, online or in person (or a mix of the two). I offer bespoke counselling in hour long sessions.

I am a fully qualified counsellor; a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); a qualified Solicitor and member of the Law Society.

I abide by the BACP’s code of ethics and attend regular clinical supervision in my counselling work.

I have worked with people with an extensive range of concerns. My special interests are anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, divorce, eating disorders, low self-esteem, identity issues and sexual dysfunction.

Come to me for my exceptional experience and my warm, welcoming, non-judgmental approach. You can talk to me about anything and everything. My aim will solely be to help you thrive, enjoy your life and achieve your aims.

Recent client feedback: "Victoria opened my mind, gave me clarity and a completely renewed perspective.  A totally uplifting experience, I feel refreshed and empowered.  Everyone needs to chat with this incredible woman." (E.T.)

Practice description

My approach is all about you.  Should you seek my help, a lot of our work together will focus on your values and what you hold dear; how you perceive your life and other people in it; how you have come to believe the things that you do; and how you interpret the words and actions of those around you, so we can find out what is undermining you presently.  If you have a mental health issue, we will look at how it might have come about and how it is impacting on you, as well as how it can be dispelled.  We will look at your future; what you think would be your ‘best life’; identify the things that are preventing it from being realised and establish the best way of overcoming them.

My therapeutic approach is integrative – I deploy the counselling styles that I consider most fruitful for each individual client, although I use the person-centred counselling model as the basis of that integration.

I offer bespoke counselling services for adults. It might be necessary to see you weekly or, say, fortnightly or just once a month, dependent on your concerns and their impact on you. It might be necessary to see you more at the beginning than towards the end of therapy. I can accommodate any of these options, according to your own specific needs.

Please note that my counselling sessions are each a full hour, rather than the usual 50 minutes.

My first session

The first session will take one and a half hours, but be payable at the same rate as other hourly sessions (i.e. £80 for the full hour and a half first session).
