About me and my therapy practice

Are you looking for a safe, confidential place to explore what is troubling you? As you have come this far, it's likely that finding the best professional help is important to you.

As a Psychotherapist, my approach aims not only for the relief of symptoms but for deep seated and lasting change. I offer assessments and brief and longer - term therapy, depending on your needs. My consulting rooms are a few moments from Oxford Circus in central London.

You may be wondering if I can help you with a particular issue. I have worked with a whole range of people. I see people who are having problems with their relationships, with friends and family, with study or working life, with depression, anxiety, issues related to self-esteem, identity and sexuality and those experiencing the aftermath of neglect, abuse or trauma. Sometimes the problem can be more difficult to pin down, it may feel like there are difficulties that overlap and are harder to untangle.

Practice description

There are times in all our lives when we find things overwhelming, we can struggle with feeling anxious, depressed or confused and may be unsure how to make things better. If the difficulties persist, it can cause stress and unhappiness at home and work.

I offer an environment where you can explore what is troubling you without fear of criticism or judgment. Central to my work is you as an individual, your own experience and the ways in which you understand what's been happening.

Psychoanalytic therapy is a way of understanding how we think, feel and act that considers the influence of relationships, past and present. It also promotes greater self awareness so that we might notice and feel more in control of the unhelpful ways we can find ourselves acting and feeling, often without realising it. These may have been helpful ways of coping at one time in our lives but may not be so helpful anymore and even feel as if they're holding us back.

Sometimes it might feel frightening  to start to talk about how you're feeling. There might be a part of you that wants help but another that finds accepting it really difficult. It can be helpful to express any anxiety or negative feelings you may have about coming to therapy. I understand that for some people, it may take some time to get to a place where you can talk freely.

My first session

Initially I offer a consultation process which will help us to think about your needs and whether my approach can be helpful for you. If you are interested in working with me, or have any queries, please feel free to contact me via email or phone. If I'm not available right away, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. You may wish to leave me a message suggesting a time for me to call you.
