About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and UKRCP Registered Independent Counsellor/Psychotherapist and have been practising as an integrative counsellor since 2007. I am also a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Psychotherapist, Psychosexual Therapist and qualified Supervisor of other therapists. I am registered with ACTO, which means I have studied working by telephone and webcam in line with their requirements. I have also taken part in continuing professional development to develop my skills around a range of issues e.g. substance misuse, anger, relationships, working with gender and sexual minorities, trauma.

Apart from my private practice, I work as a supervisor and counselling tutor and I am an honorary clinical teaching fellow at University College London (UCL). I previously worked as a senior therapist supervising other therapists in an NHS psychological therapies team for a number of years. I have also worked for counselling organisations in the voluntary sector supporting young people, people with alcohol problems, victims of crime and older people.

My individual 50 minute session rate is £80-95 depending on your income level and will be agreed after the initial session, for which I charge £80. For relationships I charge £135-175 for a 75 minute session.

Practice description

I offer a confidential and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings and work through the difficult issues in your life. I will work with you to gain a better understanding of yourself, your situation and your relationships with those around you and help you to find your own answers to problems and make choices about your life.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on a range of counselling models (including humanistic and CBT) to find a way of working which suits your needs. I have particular expertise in working with anxiety, depression, psychosexual and alcohol issues.

My first session

During the first session, I will ask you some questions to find out more about you as a person and the issues you would like to work on. I will make a recommendation about how we might work together or suggest an alternative approach. You can also ask me any questions you might have. This is an opportunity for both of us to see whether we would like to work together.
