About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Rhiannon, a qualified relational integrative therapist. This means that the relationship between client and therapist lies at the heart of my practice. The idea of therapy can be a daunting one, and sharing difficult experiences, fears and hopes with a complete stranger sounds like an odd concept. This is why I place huge importance on building a supportive and trusting relationship, where I encourage honest and open feedback from my clients. I very much view therapy as a collaborative process, where both therapist and client contribute.
You may be considering therapy for various reasons, be that relationship issues, trauma, bereavement, anxiety, stress, or you may feel stuck and unable to harness your full potential. In all these instances therapy can help to unpack your difficulties and gain a new perspective and clarity on a situation.
As an integrative therapist I am trained in different therapeutic approaches, this mean I can adapt my way of working to each client's individual needs. My role is to sit alongside you whilst you explore your emotional world. I aim to help you to understand your motivations and patterns of behaviour, in order to build resilience and better manage the contradictions of life. I believe it's through acceptance and our willingness to learn from our past and present experiences, that we can begin to be our most genuine and fulfilled self.
Alongside my private practice, I have worked as a Psychotherapist in the NHS and higher education settings. Most recently I was the Head of Counselling for a health charity that provides low cost counselling to vulnerable women.
