The sessions I have available for play therapy or creative arts therapy are generally weekdays, mornings or afternoons. Some evenings

For review meetings with parents of play therapy clients, I occasionally facilitate weekend of evening appointments

I offer online therapy so location is less of a factor. I offer in person sessions in the Roscommon, leitrim, sligo, Longford areas of Ireland.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a trauma informed, GRSD affirming Play & Creative Arts Therapist.

I'm a kind, neurodivergent queer mum, an animal lover, a playful soul, an empath.

I now specialise in working with gender, relationship, sexuality diverse clients, in creative ways, in both individual & group sessions. I'm a member of the LGBTQ community. I provide a safe space & affirmative therapy. I facilitate training in this area too.

I have 25 years of working with children, young people, those with additional needs (including complex, severe & profound disabilities) in both voluntary & professional capacities.

In my work, I utilise creative media. This can include music, art, sensory play, sandtray therapy, puppets, clay, animal assisted therapy, games, drama, stories, masks, role play, messy play. I have strong passions for attachment and gentle parenting.

I offer online therapy so location is less of a factor.

I offer in person sessions in the Roscommon, leitrim, sligo, Longford areas of Ireland.

As well as working with children, young people & their parents, I work with older members of our community including those with dementia.

I have experience of working with families with experience of trauma, acrimonious separations, family Court, the care system.

I'm passionate about training, in both certified & non certified contexts.

I have completed some training in the area of supervision & provide this for teachers, social care workers, medical staff, but not therapists.

My gorgeous pets sometimes participate in my work... Currently dogs & bunnies.

Always happy for you to get in touch for enquiries & to make peer connections too!

Practice description

I work in a child centred or person centred, trauma informed way.

Creative therapy can be suitable for those who want to utilise alternative ways to engage in therapy, such as through drama, art, sandtray therapy, clay, animal assisted therapy, stories, puppets, outdoor nature play, . This can really suit those with diverse needs eg selective mutism, refugees with little English, people with dementia, those with neurological conditions, sensory or communication difficulties.

My practice provides a safe, affirming space for those exploring gender, relationship, sexuality diversity.

I work in both directive and non directive ways.

Referrals for my practice are accepted from 3 years of age to 12 years for Play Therapy, 13-16 years or older adults for Creative Arts Therapies.

Training & parent/Foster carer support available.

My first session

Before the first session & before accepting the referral for therapy with me, assessment forms are completed. An initial intake meeting is facilitated.

In the first therapy session, Creative means to engage will be available so there is no pressure to use verbal communication.

In the first session, we see how we connect with one another and if we want to work together in a therapeutic relationship.
