About me and my therapy practice
Everyone can experience life as overwhelming at times and it can be difficult to talk to those around us about how we really feel; however talking to a counsellor can make a real difference to how you feel and what you do.
Sometimes we can find ourselves repeating unhelpful or destructive patterns in our behaviour or relationships. At these difficult, and often distressing times, therapy can be a life-saver. For others, who find themselves ‘stuck’, therapy can be an exciting space for personal development, growth and exploration.
I use a variety of approaches which I tailor to an individual clients need. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Person centred and Psychodynamic theories. I also offer EMDR Therapy, which may provide relief to those suffering post traumatic stress or who are distressed by unwanted images or memories from their past. We go at your pace and explore what you feel safe to bring to therapy.
I have experience in the treatment of disordered eating, anxiety, porn addiction, stress, loss and depression.
Deciding to begin counselling can be a difficult choice and it takes courage to take the first step of getting in touch. It is often the 'healthy' part of us which enables us to make that decision.
I offer an initial session at reduced rate so that you have an opportunity to decide if you feel happy to work with me in a therapeutic setting. I am based in East Belfast and Holywood.
