Given the current situation and Coronavirus guidelines I am not able to offer face to face appointments at the moment. I can, however, offer you online or telephone appointments. Although this may seem a little strange at first most people find them just as effective and supportive as face to face appointments.
About me and my therapy practice
You don't have to be stuck in emotional distress and pain. I am a straightforward, kind and sensitive therapist with decades of experience supporting a wide range of people with a wide range of issues.
Being qualified as an integrative therapist means that I can draw on a range of different approaches to counselling and psychotherapy which I prefer to use flexibly, working together with you, to enable you to find a way forward which works for you, to help you find the outcomes you are seeking.
Words others have used to describe the way I work include “sensitive, thoughtful, resourceful, committed and empathic”.
I know it can be hard to take the step of making contact with a therapist but know that if you decide to do so you will me bet with gentleness, calmness, compassion and a steadfastness to stick with you as you work towards understanding and, if you want, change.
How I work
As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I draw on a range of tried and tested approaches based in current researched evidence, which can be tailored to suit your needs. I use a collaborative approach, you remain in control of your counselling at all times, you decide what you do and don't want to work on, and I bring a range of knowledge and skills to help you explore and understand what troubles you and decide what you would like to do next as you work towards improved well-being and effective, positive change. The counselling and psychotherapy I offer you is continuously monitored by trained supervisors to ensure that I am providing you with the best therapy I can and that my work meets the exacting standards and ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I work with adults (over 18 years old) but bring training, knowledge and experience of development across our life spans to help us. My background includes knowledge and experience of learning disabilities, autism, cognitive impairments, learning theory and psychological ill-health.
My Qualifications include:
• Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling [ACTO Approved]
• M.Sc. in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy [BACP Accredited]
• Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
• Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy
• Certificate of Awareness in Bereavement Care [CRUSE]
