About me and my therapy practice
Therapy is one time when it is all about you. Your experiences, your feelings. When things feel difficult – whether or not you know the reasons why, therapy can really help. How? At the heart of therapy is your relationship with your therapist. When your therapist offers you space to think and to feel, uninterrupted and without judgement, you can start to make more sense of things, together. So it’s important to find a good connection. There are many types of therapist – it’s not necessarily sensible shoes and long silences.
I am an experienced, friendly qualified Therapist, Psychodynamic Counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP. I work to the BACP’s standards of Good Practice and their Code of Ethics, underpinning my practice with integrity and warmth. My focus is mainly Psychodynamic - a rounded approach to mental health that explores your emotions, feelings and beliefs so that you can develop self-awareness. Together, we’ll think about what’s brought you here. Together, we’ll look at how things can be different. Together, we’ll work on it.
Qualifications and Training Details
- Currently completing a Certificate in Psychosexual Studies with Tavistock Relationships
- Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (BACP accredited)
- Foundation Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling with The Counselling Foundation
- Foundation Certificate in Couple Counselling and Psychotherapy with Tavistock Relationships
- BA, PGCE
My first session
You may be positive that therapy is what you need or you may still be unsure. Let’s start by having an initial session. The session will last for an hour and is simply a process of finding out more about you and why you are seeking therapy at this time. This is offered free of charge and take place either face-to-face, on Zoom, or even on the phone.
