About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor trained in the person-centred approach with cognitive behavioural skills and an EMDR Level 3 therapist. I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and an accredited member of the Association of Christian Counsellors so you can be assured of an accepting, knowledgeable and professional counsellor who will be with you through your therapeutic experience.
The first time we meet is generally known as an Initial Meeting (for obvious reasons!) and it's an opportunity for me to explain what counselling is; I rather like "an intentionally helpful conversation" but, of course, I will go into far more detail so you will have as much information as possible to help you make an informed decision. I will explain what I can safely offer in terms of confidentiality, and it's a time for you to decide whether you can work with me and whether counselling is the right decision for you at this time of your life.
I hope you find a way through your difficulties and if you choose to contact me I look forward to meeting and supporting you as you find a better way of being.
