About me and my therapy practice
My role as your counsellor is to offer you a safe space and the freedom to talk about your own unique feelings and emotions in a warm, non-judgemental, confidential environment. Are you worried about Covid 19? Due you have feelings of sadness, anxiety, depression, maybe overwhelmed with life and your issues?
We will work together to help you find a way to process, understand and overcome the difficulties you are faced with by focusing on what is important to you and the change that you want to achieve. By looking at internal change to make decisions and external change to accept what can not be changed we can reach your goal for constructive change.
When you have a problem or issue you may not feel heard or validated by people in your life. As a result you may feel that no one truly listens to you or feel that you can not talk to anyone about your problems, feel a burden or be embarrassed. I can help you cope with difficult life events on a path of self-discovery. Your past may influence your present but it does not have to affect your future journey.
As an Integrative Counsellor, the main therapy I use is Carl Rogers person centred approach. This focuses on you, not the problem, with the end goal being for you to be empowered and achieve greater independence. I can also work with a range of counselling skill tools including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Psychodynamic approach, Play Therapy and Mindfulness to meet your needs and facilitate change.
I offer face to face session for 1 hour and the beautiful garden office I work from offers calm and tranquil surroundings. Covid regulations around safety are in place with masks being worn, temperature taken and hand sanitiser available. Appointments can also be by telephone or Zoom. I hold a current DBS.
