About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious or overwhelmed? Having obsessive thoughts, insomnia, complusions, panic attacks, or a general sense of unease? Feelings of grief, fear, dread? Maybe you’re feeling particularly impacted by what’s happening in the world; or perhaps there’s been a change in your life – a relationship issue, work difficulties, health concerns or other life transition. And maybe you’re not sure quite why you feel the way you do. You may not be sure where to start, and who you can trust. I respect the courage that it takes for you to think about contacting a therapist.

My view is that anxiety is a sign that that your life is not aligned with your inner values, and there’s a deep part of you that’s protesting. My approach is to go on a journey with you to listen to what’s inside you, with compassion and curiosity. This can feel scary and so we go at a pace that is right for you, and support you to feel safe. This isn’t about quick fixes, although there are some strategies that may be helpful to share. This is about enabling you to feel more connected with yourself, so that you live a more fulfilling life.

My role is not to tell you what to do. I am here to listen to you and together with you to seek out your own words. People describe me as warm, nurturing, and non-judgemental. You and I will be open-minded detectives listening to the information within you: your emotions, physical sensations and your thoughts. This is a process that leads to finding your truth, clarity and your way forward in your life.

My work in private practice and LGBTQ counselling organisations has been varied and includes issues of identity, relationships, bereavement, gender identity, anxiety, abuse, shame and sex.

My therapeutic work includes working with individual staff in organisations on issues such as: work relationships, race and gender dynamics, bullying, and overwhelm.

I have undertaken training in psychosexual health.
