About me and my therapy practice
I am a relational practitioner and qualified counsellor with a Diploma (Dip) in psychotheraputic counselling, and a certificate of accreditation in the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) endorsed ‘couples therapy for depression (CTFD)’ programme at the Tavistock Institute. I am nearing completion of my Masters degree, having trained for four years in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy at the Metanoia Insitute, London. I have over three years of experience in working with individuals and couples across a broad spectrum of life situations, from depression and anxiety to workplace stress and relational difficulties.
I have an interest in couples work and, as a former professional musician, I understand the pressures of performance, judgement and balancing creativity with financial stability. I believe these types of pressures affect everyone, not just musicians or artists and, accordingly, I like looking creatively at our life situations and using the power of imagination to help us move toward the places we want to inhabit.
I am registered as Member of the British Associaton of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), the International Assocation of Relational Transactoinal Analysis (IARTA) the Europen Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA) and a senior trainee with UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I am governed by these organisations codes of ethics.
If you would like to consider working with me I am happy to have an initial phone conversation to understand where you are and what you would like from counselling or therapy. From there, if we agree we would like to consider working together more, we can have an initial face to face consultation.
Practice description
I have a counselling room in Teddington, in which I offer a safe space to talk. It is in walking distance from the nearest train stations (Teddington) and my sessions last 50 minutes. If required, I can offer online sessions on occassion but my preference is to work for the large part on a face-to-face basis.
