About me and my therapy practice
Reducing the stigma around mental health is an area that I'm passionate about. All humans have feelings; therefore, all humans should have someone to help them process those emotions skillfully.
It can be difficult to decide where to begin and who to talk to when deciding that counselling is an option. You are probably feeling nervous already at the thought of discussing your feelings with a qualified counsellor. It is understandable having this apprehension.
I offer a free initial consultation to give you the chance to ask any questions and to see how comfortable you feel talking with me.
My focus is to help you start your healing journey and recover from presenting issues that leave you unable to find happiness.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, working with adults and children. I work as an integrative counsellor, offering therapy to suit the individual.
The integrative approach is at the forefront of counselling and psychotherapy theory, practice and research and incorporates aspects from three main therapeutic traditions; person-centred, cognitive and psychodynamic.
We will work together to explore psychological processes and experiences from these different perspectives which address conscious and unconscious needs. This can produce a change in emotional and cognitive processes and behaviour.
I can offer support to, those struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, domestic violence, and bereavement of loved ones (including pets).
