About me and my therapy practice
I am a very experienced, UKCP and BACP accredited/registered therapist with a private practice in Lewes, offering affordable therapy for adults. Initial consultations are £40. Thereafter it is £60 to £50 on a sliding scale. I am currently working both face-to-face and online.
Alternatively I currently offer a free, initial 15-minute Zoom session to give you a sense of who I am; starting therapy can be a daunting step.
I offer a quiet, private, safe place to talk about personal problems and the stresses of modern living.
For some of my clients, the difficulties of the past few years has led to a time for meaningful introspection. For others, old worries have resurfaced, giving rise to great anxieties, difficult soul-searching and a need for support.
Overall, I have helped people to overcome issues including:
Anxiety, depression, stress
Relationship issues
Parenthood issues
Low self confidence
Identity and Sexuality
Issues from Childhood Motherhood/Fatherhood
Loss and Bereavement
Illness
Addiction
Work-related issues
You don't have to be in crisis to benefit, as it can also assist you with:
Spiritual growth and self knowledge
Expanding your choices
Resolving inner conflicts and stuckness
Finding direction and identity
I am an integrative therapist. This means I work within my own framework, integrating different but complementary strands of therapy from psychodynamic and humanistic traditions such as Gestalt and TA. This is because I believe that one size does not fit all. We are individuals and what may suit one person may not suit another.
I operate my practice along with lines of an equal opportunities employer; aiming to be sensitive and aware of your cultural and ethnic origins, and to your religious beliefs and sexual orientation. I have regular supervision and update my training with continued professional development.
Practice description
How can I help you?
I aim to help you gain a perspective about whatever is concerning you. Together we identify what may be preventing you reach your potential.
I am trained to look beyond presenting problems to possible underlying causes. This is to help you understand and accept yourself; to change your behaviour to something better for you, and to help you move towards becoming the kind of person you want to be (words inspired by therapist Stephen Palmer, 2005)
I am experienced in working both short- and long-term. I offer an initial consultation in which you can decide whether we are right for one another; and then, if you do, usually up to six sessions. It is up to you if you wish to continue after this period, or at any time.
All calls and messages are completely confidential.
My first session
I offer 50 minutes in which I will ask you to tell me what brings you to see me. I may ask some questions about your background. Near the end of our session, I will give you some more information about therapy and how I work. Together we can decide where we go from here.
I also offer a free intial Zoom 15-minute meet to give you a sense of who you would be working with.
