About me and my therapy practice

If you are struggling with some or many aspects of your life, feeling stuck or alone, or things just don’t feel right for you at the moment, we can have an initial phone call or email to discuss whether you might benefit from weekly psychotherapy with me.

My fees are £80 per session and for the initial meeting. I offer a number of reduced cost places, depending on availability and a person’s circumstances.

My consulting room is 4 minutes walk from Angel underground station, and a short bus or tube journey from Kings cross, Old Street and Barbican underground stations.

I am a BACP (2003) accredited and UKCP (2004) Registered Integrative Psychotherapist with over 24 years experience working with adults, covering a wide range of emotional issues (see below). abide by the BACP and UKCP code of ethics, and I have an up to date DBS certificate.

Practice description

I see people on either a short-term basis for between 6 and 12 sessions, or long-term for more in depth work, which may be for a number of months or years.

I provide a safe and confidential space in which people can express their feelings, and talk about any difficulties that they are experiencing. Rather than giving advice or providing answers my skill is to help and support people, in a non-judgmental way, to find their own answers and deepen their self-awareness. My style of work is grounded in my understanding of the uniqueness of each person who comes to see me, and for us to work together to try and make sense of their thoughts, feelings and sense of self. This can involve exploring the meaning and importance of their personal experiences, relationships and particular circumstances.

The work of therapy can potentially help people to gain a deeper self-awareness and understanding of themselves. For some people it may be about feeling more connected with other people. For others it may be about lessening the impact that a traumatic event(s) has on them. Overall, therapy can help build and support a person’s self-confidence and belief in who they are, what they want, what they do and what they have to offer.

My first session

After an initial phone call or email, I usually suggest 1 or 2 assessment sessions for you to meet me and get a sense of how I work, and for me to meet you and gather some background information, and then together we can discuss the possibility of you taking up ongoing psychotherapy with me, if that seems the best way forward.
