I work from home and we have good parking and easy access.

I will be taking a break over Christmas and New Year.

I am also able to see people on zoom.

About me and my therapy practice

My approach is person-centred.  I am experienced in working with professionals in Education or Clergy and have  years of  experience in personal and group supervision. I gained an MA in Person- Centred Counselling at UEA in 2011. I have a Diploma in Supervision and have been supervising trainees and counsellors for the last 10 years. I work as a group supervisor and supervisor for two counselling agencies. One is for victims of domestic or child abuse and the other is for those suffering from pregnancy or baby loss.  I am accredited by the  Association of Christian Counsellors. I am on the register for both BACP and ACC.

Practice description

I work in a person-centred way, which means that I listen to the client or supervisee and give them the core conditions of empathy, acceptance and  congruence.  I hope to build a relationship of trust with the client so that they  know that they can talk to me without feeling judged or controlled.

In supervision, both the counsellor and the client are kept in focus so that both of them are supported, according to the ethics and guidelines of the BACP and ACC.

Safeguarding of all concerned is considered carefully.

My first session

In the first session we would meet either face to face or via zoom, if required.  A contract between the two of us would be considered,  discussed and agreed on. This would be signed by the client and by me and would be sent via email and returned in the post, if meeting via the internet.  Otherwise, this would be signed during the session, if meeting face to face.  Payment for each session would take place during the session.

Both of us would see how we could relate to one another at our first session and  the client would discuss the reason for initiating the counselling. We may discuss any previous counselling experiences.

Safeguarding issues for all concerned would be addressed.

I work from home mainly.

About me and my therapy practice

I work in a person-centred way, listening to the concerns of clients and empathizing with them.

I have been counselling for over 30 years and have supervised people since 2013, including trainees and qualified counsellors. I work for two counselling organizations as a supervisor and group supervisor. One of these is for pregnancy loss and the other one is for abuse and domestic violence.

Practice description

I use the core values in my work as  supervisor, aiming to support the supervisee and also the clients with whom they are working.

My aim is to create a climate of trust wherein the supervisee feels free to discuss their work in an honest and open way so that we are able to work together in their best interests and those of the clients they meet.

I  also work with groups of about 4 or 5 people on zoom and we meet for group supervision monthly.

As a retired teacher I find this work rewarding and interesting.

I  also run a Carers'  group  in Wymondham as a volunteer, together with others at my church.  (This was as a result of my research for my MA which was about carers. I found out that they need to feel less isolated).

We welcome people  to our Cup of Caring group in Wymondham, which has an interesting programme of events for carers and the person they care for.

My first session

We would meet and discuss the contract together to decide whether or not we could make a safe relationship in which to discuss their work.

If this works out I would expect the supervisee to pay for this session and subsequent sessions at the time of meeting.

I do some work on zoom but would always prefer to meet face to face if at all possible.
