About me and my therapy practice
Ever felt you have to pretend you are happy or that you feel so low you avoid others? Do you feel you have to keep smiling but inside you are sad, angry or numb? You may be struggling with anxiety or depression or something else that you feel stops you enjoying life? Or perhaps you are aware that things are not right but don’t know why or how to go about fixing them? It may be that something from your past is troubling you or that you just need to talk about day to day issues such as feeling lonely or isolated or scared. The thing is you don’t have to go this alone.
Together we can explore these matters in a safe, caring and non-judgemental environment. Our time together can be short or long term. I cannot promise you that everything will be okay or tell you what to do; but I will encourage and support you in better understanding your emotions, feelings and issues, and where possible work toward solutions. This can often be the first steps to a sense of well-being and purpose.
How I Work:
In terms of my approach to therapy I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I work in a number of ways. I can tailor fit your sessions to meet your needs and issues and together we can work toward a better understanding of what may be troubling you. You can call, text or email me to book a free 20 minute introductory appointment over the phone. This is not a counselling session but an opportunity to see if we would be a good fit and that our schedules match. During our call you will have the opportunity to ask me about any concerns you may have regarding counselling. I will ask you some questions about yourself and explain how I work.
What I can help with:
I work with a range of issues and conditions for instance: abuse, anxiety, attachment issues, bereavement, depression, loss, OCD, men’s issues, relationships, self-esteem, stress, trauma, women’s issues and work related. If you do not see your particular issue or concern here that does not necessarily mean I cannot work with you and your issue. It’s always better to call and check. I am especially interested in working with trauma. Trauma can result from a single event or experience or sustained and continuous events and experiences. The event or events may have occurred many years ago or more recently.

My first session
Our first session will be mostly an assessment of your issues and how we might work together. This is to ensure that the correct approach is developed for you and that you are happy with the plans that we develop to move forward.
